5. The ancient Sanskrit word “chakra “ means wheel of light.  Chakras are the internal generators and regulators of the life force through the human energy system.  Chakras are energy channels that run through the body along the spine and are located in different sections of the human body.  Each chakra is considered a focal point and relates to a spiritual, physical, or emotional energy tied in with the endocrine system.

    Question 6    What is Sekem-Seichim?

 6. *Sekhem (pronounced "Say-kem) is an Egyptian word meaning power or might. Sekhem is also the Egyptian equivalent of the Indian term Prana and the words Chi and Ki as used in the Orient to denote the all-encompassing essential force that binds the universe together and is present in all life. Sekhem is both all around us and in us. Seichim (pronounced "Say-keem") is living light energy as well as an ancient Egyptian system of healing Wisdom. Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning universal life force. Reiki and Seichim are stand-alone healing systems that until recently have been taught and applied separately.    Sekhem Seichim, and Reiki work together as a unified trinity of healing energies to completely balance and bring harmony to a person's physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies. SSR complements and enhances traditional medical interventions. It supports healing of acute and chronic disease as well as anxiety, fatigue, depression, stress and other symptoms that are produced by unbalanced thoughts, feelings, and emotions. SSR encompasses the understanding that physical symptoms may have matching emotional, mental, and spiritual components. As these are addressed deeply held energetic blocks are released bringing the opportunity for improved health, more joy, live of living, higher energy levels, vitality, greater creativity, increased mental clarity, focus, and improved relationships.

7. Sekhem Seichim uses the Japanese Reiki symbols given to Dr. Usui along with Egyptian symbols given to Patrick Ziegler. These Sekhem Seichim symbols help facilitate the energetic healing by focusing the energy on the specific block or imbalance along the chakra system. Sekhem Seichim in particular is very focused on the entire being, especially the emotional roots of any particular illness. It deals with not just the symptoms, but also the root cause. It creates emotional wellness, mental healing, along with a spiritual balance and health. Sekhem Seichim does this in a holistic way that does not require extensive medication, but works well with current medical procedures or treatments. Sekhem Seichim may in time reduce the need for medication and or create an alternative to traditional health care.

8. Lightarian Institute for Human Global Transformation. Lightarian Reiki is a unique expanded form of Reiki involving six higher vibration bands of Reiki energy. The intentions of Lightarian Reiki are to expand the level of healing energies available and to simplify and demystify the process for directing those energies to those in need. The theme of Lightarian Reiki is one of compassionate and gentle healing.  The emphasis here is not on the symbols but intent of purpose directed through Lightarian Reiki. This energy is unusual in that it adjusts itself to the specific needs of the client. It cleanses, purifies, and creates alternative healing in the best way possible for each client and that client's purpose and direction.

1. Reiki is an ancient Japanese modality originated by Dr. Mikao Usui that uses universal life energy.  Reiki is safe, noninvasive and an excellent alternative healing source.

2A session begins with a bit of history of the client.  The client then lays fully dressed on a massage table and I then put my hand on their body and begin to intend Reiki healing.  Music is often put on to create a relaxing and calming atmosphere.

9. This article is first in a series discussing Reiki and its compatibility or incompatibility with specific religions.

Is Reiki compatible with your religious beliefs if you are a Christian?
There are several viewpoints on this topic. Reiki is certainly considered spiritual but not necessarily of any specific religious descent. Even though Dr. Usui, who rediscovered Reiki, was considered a Buddhist monk, this does not mean that is not entirely connected with Christianity.

Reiki Principles teach us:
Just for today I will not worry
Just for today I release all anger
Just for today I shall earn my living with integrity
Just for today I will be kind to every living thing
Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings

You will note that these are written in the way that some Christian teachings are as the “just for today” and the love-filled messages and direction. Certainly Christian principles acknowledge the purity and benefits of these Reiki Precepts. These precepts, which are at the core of one’s Reiki practice, are very compatible with Christianity.

REI – Spiritually guided, all of creation. The first half of the word “Rei-ki” translates as “God Light” or “Spiritually Guided”. It can mean God, Love or Light It is meant to describe the creation in its totality – every cell, blade of grass, stone, tree, animal, human, every planet and star. Christians can interpret this as God’s love.

KI – Life Energy. This is the name given to the vital energy that is used to give life to God’s creation. This energy, also knows as chi or prana, can be viewed as the loving energy that surrounds our physical world. This energy provides vitality for wellness, balance and wellbeing on all levels – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. The word “Reiki” can then be viewed as God’s love shining on us, giving us healing love. Reiki is a special type of energy, one guided by God’s love..

Reiki can be viewed as a personal or spiritual path– not necessarily a religious one, although it can be used to enhance Christian work.

Whatever your views are on spirituality, Reiki should be seen as a way for us to reconnect with ourselves. Reiki teaches us that pain, suffering, and illness is caused in some part, by separation from the oneness of creation on some level. Christians understand the oneness of creation as God and the holy trinity. Reiki helps to reconnect us as humans with our loving Creator.

Reiki can be considered God’s work just as many other things can be.  If you are a Christian and believe in God, then practicing Reiki can bring you closer to God and to your own spiritual and religious path.  Many very religious individuals practice Reiki and feel that it is the work of God and that God brought them to Reiki in who are Reiki Masters and Teachers.  By giving the gift of Reiki, either in a session or a class , you are without question doing God’s work.
